    Each March the village of Santiago, Lake Atitlan celebrates arts, culture, and music with Festival Atitlan, which has become one of the most interesting alternative cultural events in Guatemala. With hot music, indigenous art, and terrific food, Festival Atitlan is the place to be.  Festival Atitlan’s stage showcases some of Guatemala’s favorite musical talent with live performances featuring musicians ranging from new and emerging stars to local legends. The mission of Festival Atitlan is to promote music and art culture in the area as well as an opportunity to raise money for a good cause.

    St. Francis of Assisi was, among other things, the patron of animals and the environment. So it is fitting that fair week in the city named for him, San Francisco Panajachel, will include a ceremony to bless the animals. The environment will also be a theme, with many organizations involved in the reclamation of Lake Atitlan maintaining booths to disseminate literature about their activities and to recruit volunteers. There will also be an abundance of feria traditions going up since Sept. 17th the fair is only fully under way beginning Oct. 1st  The saint’s own day, Oct. 4th, is the height of the festivities; the final full day is Oct. 7th

    Enjoy pure adrenaline while mountain biking through timeless natural trails, beautiful nature and passing incredible views of Lake Atitlan and its surrounding volcanoes. You can be part of this challenge and visit ancient Mayan villages each with their own unique and colorful traditional clothing. Mountain Bike Crossing at Lake Atitlán is a one day activity that starts and ends at Panajachel’s public beach, passing through Tzununá, San Marcos, San Pablo, San Juan, San Pedro la Laguna, Santiago Atitlán, San Lucas Tolimán, San Antonio and Santa Catarina Palopó.

    Con el apoyo de Hoteles Porta y después de dos semanas de un campamento de profesionalizanción musical en Porta Hotel del Lago en Panajachel, la Orquesta Sinfónica Juvenil Intercultural - OSJI, presentará varios conciertos, uno de los cuales será en el Salón Las Antorchas de Porta Hotel del Lago, el viernes 12 enero de 2018 a las 19:00 horas.

    Le entrada es gratuita, pero se necesita presentar invitación.
